The Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (HARTRON) has been entrusted by the Government of Haryana, through Notification No. 42/164/2008-3GS-II dated 7th November 2013, to conduct the State Eligibility Test in Computer Appreciation & Applications (SETC) for clerks. This test is mandatory for clerks (regular or contractual) to qualify for increments in their pay scale. The term “Clerk” encompasses various roles, including Clerk-cum-Computer Operator, Office Associate, Clerk-cum-Data Entry Operator, Steno-Typist, Data Entry Operator, and Clerk-cum-Typist.
Achieving IT Literacy: Promote 100% IT literacy in government offices to include proficiency in word processing, email, data entry, and access.
Boosting E-Governance: Facilitate e-Governance projects and their implementation in government departments.
Improving Administrative Standards: Enhance the quality of administration through IT upskilling.
The SETC consists of two parts:
Structure: 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with four options each.
Language: English only.
Passing Marks: 50%.

SETC is exclusively for eligible clerks and related roles.
Applications with mismatched signatures or photographs will be rejected.

Only one application form is permitted per candidate.
Disabled candidates must submit recent disability certificates (if applicable).
Electronic devices, including mobile phones and calculators, are prohibited in the examination hall.
