Phase 1: Type Test (English)

  1. Test Format:

    • Candidates will be given an English passage.
    • The required typing speed for this test is 30 Words Per Minute (WPM).
    • The test duration will be 10 minutes.

  2. Formula for Typing Speed Calculation: WPM = (Total words typed – Mistakes) / Time (Minutes)

    Example:

    • Time = 10 minutes
    • Total words typed = 370
    • Mistakes committed = 25
    • WPM = (370 – 25)/10 = (345/10) = 34.5 WPM

  3. Mistakes Definition:

    • A wrong word typed counts as one mistake.
    • Missing a word is considered one mistake.
    • Typing extra words also counts as one mistake.
    • Transposing two consecutive words counts as one mistake.

    • An additional 0.5 marks are given for every 1 WPM above 30, with a maximum of 30 marks.

If the number of candidates qualifying Phase 2 for any category is less than or equal to 30, then all candidates who qualify Phase 2 in that category will be shortlisted for Phase 3.

Phase 3: Computer Appreciation and Application Test

  • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Maximum Marks: 20
